Justin Bieber isn't nominated in any of the categories at this Sunday's 2011 BET Awards, but that isn't stopping the teen superstar from making an appearance. With so many of his pals up for prizes at the show, it's anyone's guess what the Biebs might do come awards day, and he's keeping it a surprise.
"You never know. I will never tell you, ever, even if there was a fire right now," the singer joked to MTV News on Thursday at a New York City event for his fragrance, Someday. "I wouldn't tell you. I can't tell you [or I'd] have to kill you."
Usher, Chris Brown, Drake, former crush Beyoncé and Kanye West are among the performers nominated this year and they're also pals of Bieber's. And while he's excited for all of them, Justin said he's rooting hardest for his countryman. "I'm rooting for Drake," he said of his fellow Canadian. "Drake is my homey."
Brown has six nods, Lil Wayne has five, and Kanye West, Drake and Rihanna each have four. The Video of the Year category has a surprising mix of contenders, including Willow Smith for "Whip My Hair," Marsha Ambrosius' "Far Away," B.o.B's "Airplanes," Brown's "Look at Me Now," Hilson's "Pretty Girl Rock" and West's "Runaway."
In addition to the big-name nominees, among the A-list performers slated to take the stage at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium are Beyoncé, Jill Scott, Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne, Drake and Brown. Nicki Minaj and Bruno Mars have also been added to the show's lineup.
The 2011 BET Awards, hosted by comedian Kevin Hart, air live on Sunday, June 26, at 8 p.m. ET on BET.

Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber Turn CMT Awards Into Crossover Celebration
Kid Rock hosted the show, which featured everyone from Ludacris and Jason Aldean to Sheryl Crow.

You might have done a double-take when you saw the list of winners and guests at Wednesday night's CMT Music Awards, which included trophies for Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber as well as performances that featured Ludacris and a cover of Eminem and Rihanna's "Love the Way You Lie."
But, yes, this was a country music event. It's just that some of the hardware handed out at the show hosted by Kid Rock tipped its 10-gallon hat to the ongoing popularity of the pop-infused sound.
The biggest example of that cross-over success, Swift, took home one of the top honors, Video of the Year, for her clip "Mine." She accepted the prize from a stage in Wisconsin, her latest tour stop.
"I just want to say thank you and hi to everybody back at the CMT Music Awards," she said. "I wish I could be there, but I'm hanging out with 15,000 of my closest friends in Milwaukee. I want to thank so many people — all the little kids who are in the video and their families for bringing them to Maine and being in the video. ... I don't know what I did to deserve you guys, but you've made so many amazing things happen to me in my life."
Male Video of the Year honors went to "The Voice" judge Blake Shelton for "Who Are You When I'm Not Looking," while the female video winner was his wife, Miranda Lambert, for her emotional tune "The House That Built Me."
One of the more unusual names on the winners list was Bieber, who snagged Collaborative Video of the Year for his hookup with Rascal Flatts on the tune "That Should Be Me."
"First of all, I just want to say how honored I am to be here ... with Rascal Flatts," Bieber said while accepting his first country award. "How amazing are Rascal Flatts, everybody? I want to thank my mom. I want to thank my family. And I want to thank Rascal Flatts for even jumping on the song with me."
Flatts bassist Jay DeMarcus thanked Bieber right back for bringing the group the "great song," adding, "It was an honor to be in this video with you. What a talented guy. We appreciate it so much."
Lady Antebellum, another group that has surfed the more country side of the crossover wave, scored Group Video of the Year for "Hello World." And the Band Perry, an act that many mainstream listeners were first introduced to thanks to "American Idol" runner-up Lauren Alaina, took the USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year prize for "If I Die Young," as well as the 2011 Nationwide Insurance On Your Side Award.
Of course, it wasn't all awards and honors, there was also a hilarious opening bit in which Swift and Shania Twain killed it in a three-minute "Thelma & Louise" parody. In the clip, the two jump in their convertible and run into a perv played by comedian Ron White, practice shooting their guns and run into "Glee" star Chord Overstreet, who plays the shirtless Brad Pitt character. In addition to a gratuitous Donald Trump cameo, the video also featured Kenny Rogers singing his hit "The Gambler" by the roadside and host Rock hopping into the car with the ladies after getting kicked off his tour bus for partying too hard.
There were other highlights, including someone tossing a pair of ladies' underwear at Rock and Sheryl Crow later admitting she flashed hers while getting up from a stool after performing with the rapper-turned-heartland-rocker.
"I'm just gonna address the elephant in the room, because people all over America are tweeting that I was wearing a really short skirt when I sang with Kid Rock — and that when I got up off the stool, I showed my underwear," Crow joked. "Well, at least you were wearing underwear," co-presenter Sara Evans said.
There was further drama when Twain came out to introduce the male video winner and took a major tumble on a too-slick floor while walking to the stage. She got up quickly and regained her composure, later laughing, "I don't need a stunt double."
In addition to Rock opening the show with a bit of his hard-hitting "Bawitdaba" (which was cut off in favor of a more country-safe tune named "Till My Dying Day" that he wrote for Wynonna Judd), Ludacris hooked up with Jason Aldean for "Dirt Road Anthem," the Band Perry played "Love the Way You Lie," and Lady Antebellum did a bit of Prince's "Kiss."
"Idol" winner Scotty McCreery was on hand with Alaina to introduce a performance by Sugarland as well.
Other winners included Sugarland (Duo Video of the Year for "Stuck Like Glue"), Zac Brown Band and Jimmy Buffett (CMT Performance of the Year for "Margaritaville") and Shelton (Best Web Video of the Year, "Kiss My Country Ass.")

Game Says His 'Pot Of Gold' Is 'Nothing Materialistic'
'To me, those coins are my family, my girl, my friends,' rapper tells MTV News on set of his new video.
By Rob Markman, with reporting by Matt Elias

They say money isn't everything, and on his new single, "Pot of Gold," the Game casts material possessions aside in favor of the more important things in life. "You never grasp ahold of every coin in the pot, so you gotta take as much as you can," Game said of the song's concept on the Los Angeles set of his video on Tuesday. "To me, those coins are my family, my girl, my friends — nothing materialistic."
On the Chris Brown-assisted single, which will appear on Game's upcoming R.E.D. Album (August 23), the Compton, California, rapper contemplates his success in the face of the world's ills as CB sings about how he misses the days "when life was simple." It is that notion that ultimately shaped the video's direction.
"He wanted to do a concept that was kind of a tribute to everything that has influenced him over the years and got him to the place that he's at now," the video's director, Bryan Barber, said. "He had this real cool idea about the gold impala that N.W.A used in one of the videos and going to this house where he lived as a kid."
For Game, the video was also a chance to look back on his childhood and to connect with his own son by taking the youngster to daddy's old stomping grounds. "First scene is I'm up in this attic with all these Tupac posters and Snoop Dogg and just basketballs. It's sorta real reminiscent of my room growing up in my house," the West Coast spitter said. "I got my son in there. So it's like me bringing my son back to where I grew up because he doesn't know anything about that. He's spoiled, he lives far out, he goes to private school. So just showing him the things that existed and the daily routine when I was a kid."
As good as Game's intentions were, the shoot went a tad awry. California producer and Game collaborator Mars was robbed at gunpoint for some cash and jewels. He was on set during the shoot, but the actual robbery took place blocks away, according to a Game representative.
After the robbery, however, the producer sent a tweet putting things in perspective, as he too seems to value the intangibles over material possessions: "Can't believe I just got robbed! #thankgodimalive," Mars wrote.

'Australian Idol' Judge Jay Dee Springbett Found Dead
Sony exec's cause of death has not yet been established.

"Australian Idol" judge Jay Dee Springbett was found dead at his home in Sydney on Thursday. He was 36.
He was discovered after friends called authorities when they couldn't contact the former "Idol" judge. He was already dead when authorities arrived at his Woolloomooloo apartment, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. As of press time, nothing else was known about the cause of death, although authorities believe nothing suspicious happened.
The U.K. native moved to Australia in 2004. He worked for Sony Music and joined "Idol" down under during the show's final season in 2009, replacing Kyle Sandilands. He was known as the show's resident "nice guy" judge. That year, Stan Walker was crowned the champ and later went on to become a successful artist in Australia and New Zealand.
The show aired on Network Ten in Australia, and a spokesperson for the network released this statement: "Our heartfelt condolences go out to Jay Dee's family at this very difficult time. Jay Dee was an asset to the final season of 'Australian Idol,' [and] we feel honored to have worked with him."
As a record executive, Springbett helped shape the careers of artists including Guy Sebastian, Human Nature, Rogue Traders and Natalie Bassingthwaighte. "Jay Dee was so very enthusiastic and passionate about his family, his music projects and his plans for the future," Sony Music Entertainment Australian and New Zealand CEO Denis Handlin said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. "[He] was a great friend and larger-than-life charismatic character who will be missed enormously."
Fremantle, which produces the "Idol" shows, also expressed condolences in a statement. "The 'Australian Idol' family is deeply saddened by the passing of Jay Dee," the statement reads. "Our thoughts are with his family and all at Sony Music."

'Transformers: Dark of the Moon,' 'Larry Crowne' & 'Monte Carlo' Hit Theaters

Which movies are fun for the whole family and which ones are treats just for you? Find out!
In theaters now:
Transformers: Dark of the Moon
Short Story:
Shia LeBeouf reprises his role as Sam Witwicky in the third installment in the Transformers franchise -- and, this time around, he's got a new girlfriend (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley) whose job is to look perpetually hot as Autobots and evil Decepticons duke it out over the fate of mankind. The plot -- the Decepticons want to use a new robot technology to bring their home world of Cybertron to Earth -- takes a back seat to giant robots slicing each other to pieces, cars blowing up, and Chicago being reduced to a pile of smoking rubble. But, hey, that's the point of these movies!
What They're Saying:
"Watching Transformers: Dark of the Moon makes you die a little inside. Is this the future of movies? God help us! Michael Bay, you've done it again." -- Rolling Stone
"If you're going to make a movie in which some of your stars are animated toys and much of downtown Chicago is reduced to rubble, this is the way to do it: shamelessly, with no expense spared and no cliche avoided." -- Chicago Reader
Good for the Kids?
Rated PG-13, this movie is perfect for teens and adults, especially those who grew up with the Transformers franchise. Though the amazing action sequences are mostly blood-free, plenty of humans get "vaporized," so it's probably best to leave the little ones at home with a babysitter and some Transformers toys.
Monte Carlo
Short Story:
When friends Grace (Selena Gomez), Meg (Leighton Meester) and Emma (Katie Cassidy) venture to Paris for their dream vacation, they are dissapointed when things don't at first go as planned. But things take a turn for the awesome when Grace is mistakken for an English heiress, and their bland trip soon turns in to an unforgettable vacation filled with love, adventure and even paparazzi!
What They're Saying:
"Meester and Cassidy provide solid sidekicks, though that perhaps sells them short: They ultimately carry the movie. All of their storylines lead to self-discovery and sappiness." -- Associated Press
"Were I a certain 12-year-old girl, Monte Carlo would be a giant frosted pastry, even if that pastry tastes suspiciously like Gomez's 2009 Disney Channel original movie, Princess Protection Program." -- Boston Globe
Good for the Kids?
Rated PG, this flick is perfect for young girls -- especially Selena Gomez fans! With Glee's Cory Monteith playing a love interest, this fun, romantic comedy really has something for girls of any age!
Larry Crowne
Short Story:
When Larry Crowne (Tom Hanks) suddently loses his job, he decides to start over and head back college... community college, that is. In a class of outcasts, Larry expectedly makes friends with some of his fellow classmates and even strikes up a romance with his jaded -- but beautiful -- professor (Julia Roberts).
What They're Saying:
"At this point in their careers, Hanks and Roberts know a lot about how to make movies and how to reach audiences; these are relaxed and professional star performances, long on charm and short on theatrics." -- Salon.com
"Larry Crowne has Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts and a good premise and a colorful supporting cast, but what it doesn't have is a reason for existing." -- Chicago Sun-Times
Good for the Kids?
Who can resist Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts reuniting on screen? Not adults. But with a PG-13 rating and a decidely mature plot, this may not be a good fit for young kids... so hire a babysitter! Even though the film has recieved mixed reviews, Hanks and Roberts are a match made in Hollywood heaven.
In Case You Missed:
Cars 2
Short Story:
Get ready to put the pedal to the metal! Pixar is back with Cars 2, a sequel to the 2006 animated hit. This time around, champion racecar Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and redneck tow truck Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) venture overseas for the first World Grand Prix. But things take a wrong -- and funny -- turn when clueless Mater accidentally gets tangled in a dangerous web of international espionage.
What They're Saying:
"This is Mater's movie. It's a Materthon. I would call it Materific if he didn't leave me longing for WALLE's robot to crush him into a silent cube." -- TIME Magazine
"The Cars characters will never be in danger of melting my heart, but the spy antics in this film are enough of a rip-roaring distraction to carry me through the almost two-hour running time." -- IGN Movies
Good for the Kids?
This may be the first Pixar film to recieve not-so-steller reviews, but you'll probably still want to race over to your nearest theater! With familiar characters and amazing animation, young kids will love the action and adventure.
Bad Teacher
Short Story:
Don't expect to get an education from Elizabeth (Cameron Diaz), a wildly inappropriate, foul-mouthed, gold-digging middle school teacher. When she unexpectedly gets dumped by her fiancé, she sets her sights on a rich substitute teacher (Justin Timberlake), while fighting off the affections of a sarcastic gym teacher (Jason Segel).
What They're Saying:
"Bad Teacher is a pulled punch, a pot-smoking/kid cussing/teacher copulating farce that is less than the sum of its parts." -- Orlando Sentinel
"A refreshingly raucous comedy that comes surprisingly close to completely living up to its lack of conviction..." -- MSN Movies
Good for the Kids?
It's probably better to leave the kids at home for this raunchy comedy. Rated R for drug use, nudity and language, this flick is good for adults needing a few laughs!
Conan O'Brien Can't Stop
Short Story:
After being very publicly ousted from NBC's Tonight Show, Conan O'Brien hits the road for a 32-city music and comedy tour. Appropriately titled the Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour, this documentary follows Conan's journey when he is contractually banned from appearing on television, radio and the Internet for six months after his last show.
What They're Saying:
"It's an equally insightful and excruciating journey, with our quip-ready protagonist perpetually caught between two modes: eager-to-please caffeinated and near-breakdown frustrated." -- Time Out New York
"The biggest laughs and most intriguing revelations are provided offstage in this slickly produced documentary." -- Variety
Good For the Kids?
Rated R for language, this documentary is perfect for both adults and fans of Conan, but probably not kids. The movie gives a revealing backstage look at Conan's vulnerabilities and frustration after he's forced to leave the Tonight Show. Don't fear, the comedian's humor shines though as he demonstrates his mastery in the art of improvisation.

'Transformers: Dark Of The Moon': Hunting For Easter Eggs
Hidden treasures in the threequel include new 'bots and a not-so-new heroine.
By Kara Warner
Shia LaBeouf in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon"
Photo: Jaimie Trueblood
As is to be expected with Michael Bay movies, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" is jam-packed with a lot more than his patented brand of eye-popping action sequences. The movie is two hours and thirty-seven minutes, after all, so even with all the Autobot vs. Decepticon fighting action, there is plenty of room for an actual plot and, more importantly, a ton of fun Easter eggs for the most perceptive fans out there.
In addition to all the "Star Trek" nods, Bay and company have cleverly inserted five "Transformers"-specific Easter eggs in the film. Thanks to the eagle eye of Splash Page editor Rick Marshall, along with his extensive "Transformers" knowledge, MTV News is proud to provide you with a few key things to look out for while watching "Dark of the Moon."
Not-So-New Girl Carly
Played by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, the character of Carly is new to Bay's "Transformers" but has a meaty role as one of the humans in the "Transformers" cartoons. Carly is the wife of Spike Witwicky in the original animated series, the inspiration for Shia LaBeouf's character Sam Witwicky.
The Ark of the Moon
The opening of "Dark of the Moon" is all about a mysterious ship that crash lands on the moon. Optimus Prime calls that ship "the Ark," which is the name of the spaceship that first brought Optimus and the rest of the Transformers to Earth in the original cartoon.
Spock's Speaking-Part Past
We mentioned the Nimoy connection in our "Trek" Easter eggs article, but his work is such a nerdy thrill, it gets another mention here. In "Dark of the Moon," Nimoy is the voice of Sentinel Prime, which marks the second time he has lent his voice to a robot in the series. In the 1986 classic "Transformers: The Animated Movie," Nimoy voiced Galvatron, Megatron's equally mischievous successor.
Bridges in Space
We won't go into details about how a space bridge may or may not be mentioned and/or used in "Dark of the Moon," but throughout Transformers history onscreen and in comics, the space bridge allowed for travel between Earth and Cybertron.
Old New Faces
"Dark of the Moon" introduces us to a slew of new Autobots and Decepticons, although the die-hard "Transformers" fans out there will recognize the following from the cartoons. New-to-the-movie Autobots include: Wheeljack (has a strong Albert Einstein-like resemblance), Mirage (a red sports car) and Optimus Prime's fancy silver trailer. Decepticon debuts include: fan-favorite master of destruction Shockwave and bird-like Lazerbeak, who transforms into a variety of objects, save for the excellent cassette-tape shape of his cartoon counterpart.
Check out everything we've got on "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."

Ke$ha Touched By Fan's Tattoo
Singer tells MTV News about gay fan inspired by her song 'Animal.'
By Gil Kaufman
Ke$ha knows all about the perks of being a headliner. On her Get $leazy Tour, the singer gets to call all the shots, blast her fans in the face with tons of glitter and handpick which dudes she wants to party and share the stage with.
But it's not all backstage shenanigans and groupie love. When MTV News sat down with the "Blow" singer in New York earlier this week before her gig at Roseland Ballroom, Ke$ha said that amid the nightly onstage parties there have also been some poignant moments on her first headlining outing.
"Best moment? There are so many. Every night's amazing. I have kids outside right now chanting my name and it's awesome," she said of the first leg of the tour. "There was one night a fan came onstage, I invited him onstage, and he had a tattoo of the dollar sign. I was like, 'Oh, that's awesome! Badass. You're part of the cult, man.' "
And then, she said, he began to cry and explained that he was able to come out of the closet to his friends and family thanks to her song "Animal."
"And I'm standing onstage about to sing a song about growing back a pair of testicles ["Grow a Pear"] and I had tears rolling down my face and chills all over my body," she said. "Because that's really the reason I do music, to inspire people to be themselves."
Ke$ha has been a vocal supporter of the "It Gets Better" video project, which aims to help gay, bisexual and transgender youth find hope in the face of teasing and bullying.
The "Get $leazy" juggernaut continues on Saturday night with a show at Clarion University in Clarion, Pennsylvania.
Are you planning to see Ke$ha on her Get $leazy Tour? Tell us in the comments.

Pete Rock, Smif-N-Wessun Claim NYPD Incited 'Riot'
Five people were arrested, five officers injured during Smif-n-Wessun's album release party on Tuesday.
By Rob Markman
It was all love, according to Brooklyn, New York, rap group Smif-n-Wessun and their producer Pete Rock. That was until the police came and busted up the group's album-release party in Manhattan on Tuesday night.
"It was beautiful, man. Me and my wife and my family walked up in there, everybody giving us love, pounds, they're happy I'm in the house," Pete Rock said of the scene at Tammany Hall, the club where Smif-n-Wessun performed and held an album-release party for their new LP, Monumental, released on Duck Down Records.
According to Rock, the night went smoothly as he, Tek and Steele (the two rappers who make up the group Smif-n-Wessun) performed songs from their new album in front of the sold-out crowd. For the group, the first signs of trouble arose when the club's house lights came on. "We noticed two cops came in when the lights came on. Then they went back out, then they came back in," Pete Rock recalled.
The legendary hip-hop producer, who has crafted hits for Kanye West, Busta Rhymes and Mary J. Blige, then saw his friend Lewis Peña being assaulted by the police. "Like four or five cops threw him against the wall, beat him with the stick, punching him with closed fist, had him on the ground beating him motionless with their sticks and it was just crazy. It just got crazy," he said.
Rock witnessed his wife and stepdaughter being hit by police as well. Peña, his stepdaughter Jade Everette, and three others were arrested that night. All five of the individuals arrested by police were later released on their own recognizance, MTV News has confirmed with the rap group's attorney.
Five officers were injured during the melee, one with cuts on his neck, one with a broken nose, one with a broken tooth and two with contusions to the head, according to MSNBC.com.
In a statement issued to MTV News, New York City Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly justified the officer's actions that night: "Police officers had every right to defend themselves against individuals assaulting them, and used appropriate force in doing so. They also protected civilians who were being pelted with bottles at the outset, as they responded to the location at the request of the club's own security."
Steele, who witnessed the drama inside of the club unfold from the stage, tells a drastically different story. "That party, it was flawless. It was flawless, it was packed. I personally was under the impression that security had everything taken care of," he said. "I was totally not aware of anything that might have happened outside. As far as inside, it was all smiles; it was all smiles and fun."
That was until he saw Peña, who was onstage with the group earlier, being beaten by the cops. "My initial response to that was, 'What is my friend doing on the floor? This guy just stepped off the stage. Why is he on the floor?' " Steele told MTV News. "Their response was, 'Get the F back.'
"They pushed us back in the club, they maced him while he was on the floor, maced us back in the club. It was pandemonium."
From the outside of the club, fans documented the ruckus on camera phones and personal video devices. Many of the clips have since been uploaded to YouTube and other social-networking sites. Pete Rock and Smif-n-Wessun say that they were unaware of any drama and say that club patrons should have been forewarned by police and given a chance to exit in an orderly fashion. "Nobody came into the club, nobody said, 'Listen we're going to shut it down in a few minutes, everybody disperse,' " Steele said. "When we got that information, people were leaving. The police incited a riot by grabbing folks, by pushing folks out."

Britney Spears looks like she's having a blast in her new "I Wanna Go" video. It's full of fun pop-culture references and has Brit seeking vengeance against the paparazzi. Now, the director of the kitschy clip, Chris Marrs Piliero, has opened up about working with the pop megastar.
"Meeting Britney for the first time was really rad. She was really cool. I don't think anyone has the right to be a diva, but there are some artists out there, they've been in the game long enough [that] if any one of those artists ... might have the permission to be a diva, she definitely has earned it — and she wasn't whatsoever," he told the MTV Buzzworthy blog.
So what's Spears like? "She's super polite; she's ridiculously polite. She's soft-spoken," he said. "She's really cute. The way she talks and interacts, you want to hug her. She was super professional, super game. ... It was rad. It was awesome working with her. She's a rad chick."
Another highlight of the shoot for Piliero was working with "Weeds" star Guillermo Diaz on one of the final scenes. In the last part of the video, Spears and the actor are riding in a convertible in the desert as Brit dances around. Diaz displays his comedic chops by doing things like pouring milk all over himself.
"It was definitely a funny moment of the shoot. We let the cameras roll, and the reaction that you see from Britney is definitely a genuine reaction," the director recalled. "When I was going through the footage, I loved the way that she responded. It's so genuine and so funny. It's perfect [and] it definitely is a perfect description of how we all felt about that scene."

'Transformers: Dark Of The Moon' Thrills Opening Night Crowds
Robot flick nabs $13.5 million from Tuesday-night screenings.

NEW YORK — The "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" red carpet in Times Square on Tuesday evening was packed with fans, stars and possibly a few Autobots eager to see the third installment of Michael Bay's explosive franchise. Theaters across the country were similarly swarming during evening screenings on opening night, with the alien robot flick nabbing $13.5 million in pre-midnight and midnight screenings, according to Deadline.com.
And though the atmosphere in front of the screening that MTV News attended was excited, several in the crowd were cautious about their hopes for the flick. "I've actually had lower expectations since the second one," Joseph Dornoff told us before he walked in. "So, I'm not expecting anything from it."
His friend, Patrick Farace, who has been anxiously waiting to see the third film since he heard of its release, also shared his hope to see "a better plot than the last one, amazing action. I'm excited to see Shockwave — he's the new villain." Judging by the reaction in the audience, "Dark of the Moon" surpassed many people's expectations. Fans clapped, cheered and possibly even shed a tear as the Autobots battled the evil Decepticons in their quest to bring home planet Cybertron to Earth. Although the third film featured the same basic good vs. evil fight peppered with romance as the first two, everything seemed to be bigger in this one.
The battles between Megatron, Sentinel Prime, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime were the clear fan favorite.
"[It's great] when Optimus comes by and just starts ripping everybody apart," said Wesley Arocho after the movie was done. "This action is made even more exciting by the fact that for the first time, audiences got to view it in 3-D."
"The 3-D was great. All the special effects were great," Carlos Barrozi added.
"It was better than past movies. It didn't hurt your eyes. You were able to watch it without wanting to take your glasses off," said Briana Brink-Rivera. Two friends, Mustafa Ahmed and Munawar Ali Mohd, even went so far as to say seeing the epic Chicago action in 3-D was "a dream come true."
Even Sam Witwicky's (Shia LaBeouf) love life seemed to be hotter in the third film. When asked which of Sam's love interests they preferred, newcomer Rosie Huntington-Whiteley or former franchise hottie Megan Fox, brothers Brandon and Bryce McCright responded simultaneously, "Rosie!"
If the response on opening night is any indication, Bay and company can rest assured that they've redeemed themselves after "Revenge of the Fallen." Now, the only question that remains is: Can we expect a fourth?

Michael Rapaport Eyes Roots, De La Soul For Next Docs
A Tribe Called Quest doc director says he'd do another hip-hop film 'if things lined up.'

The controversy surrounding the documentary "Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest" has not killed director Michael Rapaport's hip-hop jones. The film has received rave reviews, and if given the chance, Rapaport told MTV News that he has his eye on a few other rap acts that he'd like to turn his lens on.
"I would love to document De La Soul," he said looking directly in the camera making his best pitch.
Another group which Rapaport has interest in is Philadelphia hip-hop band the Roots. While the group has had a rotating cast since their 1993 debut, Organix, band leader and drummer ?uestlove, along with MC Black Thought and keyboardist Kamal have been mainstays. Multi-platinum producer Scott Storch was a one-time member, as was rapper Malik B. The Roots have released 10 studio LPs since the early 1990s, and of course, the Grammy-winning group are enjoying success as the in-house band for "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon."
"I would love to document the Roots; I think they have an interesting story," Rapaport said. "I have a curiosity about them. Their musicality and their live performances I think would be great, and I have a feeling that there are stories behind each one of them."
After filming A Tribe Called Quest for his current work, Rapaport has went back and forth with group member Q-Tip. In light of the experience, when he visited "RapFix Live" in March, Q-Tip urged other rappers to tell their "own stories," a concept that confused Rapaport. "I don't know if he meant, 'We're from hip-hop, it should be a hip-hop director,' " the actor-director admitted to MTV News. "I don't know who would go under the auspices of being a hip-hop director. Or if it was a racial thing like, 'We're black and shouldn't have a white director.' It was confusing to me."
As of now, Rapaport isn't looking to do another rap film in the near future, but he wouldn't turn it down if the opportunity presented itself.
"Right now I'm taking a break from hip-hop documentaries," he said. "But I would do it if things lined up."

Ke$ha Wants 'Till The World Ends' Remix To 'Take Over Airwaves'
Singer says her collaboration with Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj made a 'supergroup of three hot, strong women.'
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Matt Elias
Earlier this week, Britney Spears, Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj dropped their femme-fatale-friendly remix of the Spears club track "Till the World Ends." The already fun song got super-charged thanks to Minaj's cutting verses and Ke$ha's recognizable vocals.
"I'm a massive fan of both the ladies I share the track with," K told MTV News on Wednesday at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards. "I wrote 'TTWE' for Britney with [producers] Dr. Luke and Max [Martin] and she killed it and I loved it, but I just thought a supergroup of three hot, strong women could just take over the airwaves."
Ke$ha went on to give props to both the ladies. "I'm such a massive fan of Britney and I'm such a massive supporter of Nicki and a fan, and chicks sometimes don't team up. I don't know why, but I'm, like, huge on the girl power, so I just wanted to make a power girl track take over."
The remix quickly won praise from fans who seem to think the new features step up the song's game. "You know, with the three of us, I wasn't necessarily surprised [people like it] because I'm such a massive fan of Nicki Minaj and obviously with Britney I'm a fan of it, [taking] myself out of the equation," she said. "I'm just happy people like it."
So did Ke$ha (who once sang backup for Spears) feel any pressure writing a song for Britney? "There was no pressure. Writing for somebody else is really fun 'cause I consider myself a songwriter first and foremost," she explained. "So it was so much fun to put my brain in the sexy Britney Spears brain and express myself almost as if I were possessed by her."
